| - Sopwith Pup byl britský stíhací letoun nasazený v 1. světové válce, vyráběný firmou Sopwith Aviation Company a jeho oficiální název byl Sopwith Scout. Dostal přezdívku Pup (Štěně), protože vypadal jako menší verze dvoumístného letounu Sopwith 1½ Strutter. Přezdívka Pup nebyla používána oficiálně, protože byla údajně považována za ponižující. V současné době je však rozšířenější než oficiální název. (cs)
- Die Sopwith Pup war ein einsitziges britisches Doppeldecker-Jagdflugzeug des Ersten Weltkrieges. Sie wurde von der Sopwith Aviation Company gebaut und offiziell Sopwith Scout genannt. - The Sopwith Pup is a British single-seater biplane fighter aircraft built by the Sopwith Aviation Company. It entered service with the Royal Naval Air Service and the Royal Flying Corps in the autumn of 1916. With pleasant flying characteristics and good manoeuvrability, the aircraft proved very successful. The Pup was eventually outclassed by newer German fighters, but it was not completely replaced on the Western Front until the end of 1917. Remaining Pups were relegated to Home Defence and training units. The Pup's docile flying characteristics also made it ideal for use in aircraft carrier deck landing and takeoff experiments and training. (en)

- De Sopwith Pup was een Engels eenpersoons dubbeldekker gevechtsvliegtuig van Sopwith Aviation Company. De Pup maakte op 9 februari 1916 zijn eerste vlucht en werd vanaf oktober 1916 gebruikt door het Royal Flying Corps en de Royal Naval Air Service. De vliegtuigen werden ingezet aan het westelijk front tijdens de Eerste Wereldoorlog. Ze waren al snel achterhaald door de voortschrijdende technologie en bleven tot eind 1917 actief in gevechtssituaties. Hierna werden ze onderdeel van de Home Defence en werden gebruikt voor opleidingen. De Pups werden gebruikt op vliegdekschepen en een Pup was het eerste vliegtuig dat landde op een bewegend schip.
