Mari Kimura (木村まり, Kimura Mari) (/kɪˈmʊərə/; born 1962) is a Japanese violinist and composer best known for her use of subharmonics, which, achieved through special bowing techniques, allow pitches below the instrument's normal range. She is credited with "introducing" the use of violin subharmonics, which allow a violinist to play a full octave below the low G on the violin without adjusting the tuning of the instrument.

Kimura hatte Violinunterricht bei und , an der Toho School of Music bei (Bachelor), an der Boston University bei Roman Totenberg (Master) und an der Juilliard School bei Joseph Fuchs (DMA 1993). Ihr Kompositionslehrer war Mario Davidovsky. Ab 1998 gab sie Kurse für Interaktive Computermusik-Performance an der Juilliard School. Als Leiterin des Future Music Lab gründete sie mit dem IRCAM 2013 ein neues Sommermusikprogramm beim Atlantic Music Festival. 2017 wurde sie Professorin an der University of California, Irvine und betreut das Programm Integrated Composition, Improvisation, and Technology (ICIT).
