Gerhard Augustin (7 September 1941 – 17 March 2021) was a German music producer. He was the first professional disc jockey in Germany and co-founder of the music program Beat-Club. Augustin helped generate a shift in German culture by introducing various genres of music at a time when schlager was the standard by giving exposure to krautrock bands such as Amon Düül II and Popol Vuh. He later became the head of A&R for United Artists Records in Munich, and then the producer and manager for American R&B duo Ike & Tina Turner.

  • Gerhard „Gerd“ Augustin (* 7. September 1941 in Hagen im Bremischen; † 17. März 2021 in Bremen) war ein deutscher Musikproduzent und Autor. Er war einer der ersten Discjockeys in Deutschland und zeitweise Manager und Produzent von Ike und Tina Turner. Bei Radio Bremen entwickelte er ab Mitte 1965 das Konzept für den Beat-Club, eine Musiksendung, die von Radio Bremen produziert und bis 1972 ausgestrahlt wurde. Es war die erste Musiksendung mit englischsprachigen Interpreten im deutschen Fernsehen, die speziell für Jugendliche konzipiert war. Zusammen mit Uschi Nerke moderierte er die ersten acht Folgen der Sendung. (de)
