Claudio Roditi (May 28, 1946 – January 17, 2020) was a Brazilian jazz trumpeter. In 1966 Claudio was named a trumpet finalist at the International Jazz Competition in Vienna, Austria.While in Vienna, Roditi met Art Farmer, one of his idols, and the friendship inspired the younger trumpeter to follow a career in jazz. Roditi came to America in 1970 to study at the Berklee School of Music in Boston. In 1976 he moved to New York City, where he played with Herbie Mann and Charlie Rouse. In the 1980s he worked with Paquito D'Rivera. He was a member of Dizzy Gillespie's United Nations Orchestra.

Roditi hoorde als jongen veel jazzplaten bij een oom en dat bepaalde zijn muzikale richting. Toen hij twintig was, was hij een finalist in de International Jazz Competition in Wenen. Na enige tijd in Mexico-Stad te hebben gewoon en gespeeld ging Roditi in 1970 naar Amerika om aan Berklee School of Music te studeren. Na een jaar studie aan Berklee bleef hij in Boston hangen en speelde hij met de groep van Alan Dawson. In 1976 vertrok hij naar New York, waar hij speelde en/of opnam met onder meer Joe Henderson, Tito Puente, en Herbie Mann. In de jaren tachtig speelde hij met Paquito D'Rivera, die net als Roditi geïnteresseerd was in een synthese van Latin en jazz. (nl)
