Carol Kidd MBE (born 19 October 1945) is a Scottish jazz singer. Kidd was born in Glasgow, Scotland. She came to prominence in the mid-1970s, as the vocalist in the band led by vibraphonist / saxophonist Jimmy Feighan. In 1990, she released her award-winning album The Night We Called It a Day. She has subsequently performed and recorded extensively on her own. She has won several awards at the British Jazz Awards. In 1998, she was appointed an MBE.

Ihre hauptberufliche Laufbahn fing erst im Jahr 1990 an, als Frank Sinatra sie einlud, mit ihm im Ibrox Stadium in Glasgow aufzutreten. Danach folgten Gastspiele wie im Londoner Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club und dem Edinburgh International Jazz Festival. 1990 begann auch ihre Zusammenarbeit mit dem Label Linn Records, auf dem ihr Debütalbum, The Night We Called It a Day erschien, das als beste Jazz-Aufnahme mit dem Musical Retailer's Awards ausgezeichnet wurde. 1993 war sie in der ersten Episode der Krimiserie Für alle Fälle Fitz, Mord ohne Erinnerung, mit den Titeln „Stormy Weather“ und „Summerti (de) Carol Kidd est une chanteuse de jazz britannique, née en 1945, qui interprète les standards du répertoire depuis de longues années.
