The Battle of Neopatras was fought in the early 1270s between a Byzantine army besieging the city of Neopatras and the forces of John I Doukas, ruler of Thessaly. The battle was a rout for the Byzantine army, which was caught by surprise and defeated by a much smaller but more disciplined force.

Juan Ducas fue tomado por sorpresa en su capital por las tropas bizantinas, pero consiguió escapar al disfrazarse como un caballero, y se dirigió hacia el Ducado de Atenas. Ahí, se alió con Juan I de la Roche, y regresó con un ejército latino, atacando por sorpresa el campamento bizantino. A pesar de que su ejército era numéricamente inferior, Juan I Ducas obtuvo una aplastante victoria sobre el desorganizado ejército bizantino. (es) A Batalha de Neopatras (em grego: Νέαι Πάτραι) foi travada no início da década de 1270 entre um exército bizantino sitiante da cidade de (atual , Grécia) e as forças de João I Ducas (r. 1268–1289), governante da Tessália. João Ducas foi pego de surpresa em sua capital pelas tropas bizantinas, porém conseguiu fugir, ao se disfarçar de cavaleiro, em direção ao Ducado de Atenas. Lá, aliou-se com João I de la Roche (r. 1263–1280), e ao retornar com um exército latino, atacou de surpresa o acampamento bizantino. Embora seu exército fosse numericamente inferior, João Ducas conseguiu uma esmagadora vitória perante o exército bizantino desorganizado.
