Professor August Breisky (25 March 1832, Klattau (Klatovy), Bohemia (now Czech Republic) – 25 May 1889) was an Austrian gynecologist and obstetrician. He studied medicine in Prague, obtaining his M.D. degree in 1855. At Prague, he served for several years as an assistant to pathologist Václav Treitz (1819–1872) and obstetrician Bernhard Seyfert (1817–1870). In 1865 he received his habilitation with a dissertation about the influence of kyphosis on the pelvic shape.
