Dr Archibald Hayman Robertson Goldie CBE FRSE FRMS (usually referred to simply as A. H. R. Goldie in references) (1888-1964) was a Scottish meteorologist. He was Assistant Director at the London Meteorological Office 1938-1953. He researched the global circulation of air currents at high level and atmospheric turbulence affecting aircraft. He did much research on vapour trails from aircraft, and published several papers on how to avoid such in a military context. He was also one of the first scientists to explain the scintillation (twinkling) of stars at night.

- Archibald Goldie (Angus, 7 de juliol de 1888 - 24 de gener de 1964) va ser un meteoròleg escocès. Goldie es va graduar a la universitat de Cambridge el 1913. Immediatament va ingressar en el Servei Meteorològic Britànic, essent destinat inicialment al observatori de Falmouth a Cornualla (Gran Bretanya), però l'esclat de la Primera Guerra Mundial va fer que fos transferit al Observatori d'Eskdalemuir com assistent de Lewis Fry Richardson. Els anys que va estar a Edimburg van ser els més productius en la seva recerca sobre el que succeeix a les capes altes de l'atmosfera. (ca)
