- The 2020 Canadian Premier League season was the second season of the Canadian Premier League (CPL), the top level of Canadian soccer. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the CPL announced a 14-day hold on all pre-season training on March 13, 2020. On March 20, the league announced that it would be postponing the start of the season from the previously scheduled date of April 11. Initially, all matches were held behind closed doors. On August 8, the league announced a partnership with the province and PEI Soccer to allow 50 minor soccer players per game to attend matches. (en)

Forge FC fue el primer campeón defensor luego de derrotar a Cavalry FC con marcador global de 2:0 en la final. El 13 de marzo de 2020, como parte de las medidas para reducir la propagación de COVID-19, la CPL emitió un comunicado anunciando una suspensión de 14 días en todos los entrenamientos de pretemporada, con efecto inmediato. El 20 de marzo, la liga anunció que pospondría el inicio de la temporada a partir de la fecha previamente programada del 11 de abril. (es)
- De Canadian Premier League 2020 was het tweede seizoen van de hoogste voetbalafdeling van Canada. Er namen acht teams deel aan de competitie, één team meer dan het voorgaande seizoen. Vanwege de coronapandemie kon de competitie onmogelijk aanvatten op 11 april. Uiteindelijk werd er beslist om een ingekorte competitie te houden waarbij alle teams ruim een maand in quarantaine gingen op een enkele locatie, namelijk de terreinen van de Universiteit van Prince Edward Island (UPEI). Deze ingekorte competitie – The Island Games genoemd – vond plaats van 13 augustus tot en met 19 september. (nl)
- A Temporada de 2020 da Canadian Premier League ou The Island Games foi a segunda temporada da Canadian Premier League, a primeira divisão do futebol canadense. Em resposta a pandemia de COVID-19, os jogos da temporada foram disputados com os portões fechados e todo o campeonato foi realizado na Universidade da Ilha do Príncipe Eduardo em Charlottetown, Canadá. A temporada encurtada começou no dia 13 de agosto e se encerrou no dia 19 de setembro com a final. O Forge FC é o atual campeão da liga, tendo derrotado o Cavalry FC na final da temporada de 2019.
